NEW ZEALAND HAS A DRINKING PROBLEM
07 August 2012 · General · Press · Tips for the Moa Man

NZ Herald, 07 Aug 12- Olympic Section, page 2:

We’ve been having the best time ever over here in London at Kiwi House. Seriously, if the Olympics were judged on the calibre of the people supporting a team, we’d be gold, silver and bronze every time. Because the place is absolutely packed with some of the best people we’ve ever met, all laughing and charging around being incredibly brilliant ambassadors for New Zealand. Weirdly because of this, we’re also getting more and more people from other nations turning up every day just because the Kiwis are more fun to hang around with than their own countrymen.

However, embarrassing as it is for us to admit considering we’re the brewery that supplied Kiwi House in the first place, we’re also running out of beer.

So, to help remedy this, we’re taking a page from the Stolen Rum* play book and are actively looking for people to be beer mules. If you’re on a flight to London transiting through Hong Kong in the next week we want you to pick up as much Moa as you can in Duty Free on the way out and drop it off to us at Kiwi House when you arrive. This will get you straight in the door, so you don’t have to queue around the block, plus we’ll get Peter Gordon to whip you up a free feed, put a beer in your hand and introduce you to some exceptional Kiwis from Te Kuiti, Gisborne and Invercargill. And make sure you bring your receipt as we will pay you back in UK pounds whatever the Moa cost you in New Zealand dollars.

Thanks for your help fellas, looking forward to meeting you and if you have any questions give Sunil a call at the Moa Auckland office on 021 662 646.

Right-oh.

Josh Scott.
Moa Brewing Co.

*Stolen Rum is brilliant and if you’re a rum drinker you should do yourself a favour and give it a go.

What wonderful ambassadors for NZ you are, keep it up. I had friends who wanted to come in to try your beer and sample some Kiwi hospitality only they ended up with no time. All I can say is I hope you have a lot of folk who can bring you beer and carry on with the good work…Oh and congratulations to all the awesome medal winners and those who did not make it…Cheers from an old Southland lady……

While I understand that Stolen Rum came up with the idea, as a NZ student in marketing, you guys have been stunning over the last few weeks. This ad is the perfect head on a well poured beer. Doing a stunning job promoting NZ and a great job promoting yourselves as well. I had a chat with some mates in my program when I heard you were sponsoring and was unsure a small company could pull it off. I stand corrected and am happy to have been so. Go Moa and we all had a Moa in the flat in Dunedin watching the games.

    1. Beer delicious – please send more
    2. Marketing brilliant (but refer above comment)
    3. Kiwi House average (except for the fantastic beer garden – sun setting on balmy London evening and sitting next to BBQ while cabbage tree slapping you in the face in the evening breeze, lamb steak melts in the mouth. Homesick! Olive oil with fresh Italian bread? It’ll never catch on …
    4. Queue time 1-2 hours – mid-queue refreshments required (refer comment #1)

It would appear that the bar has burned down. Again, refer comment #1.

Hmmm, strange? Did you go to JR Duty Free in Auckland?

Beer mule’ing is copyright of the @BeerMule, anything else is just a rip off. Especially when you can’t organise the mule’ing yourself – lame!
